The Electric Light Orchestra is the greatest, (and therefore, most underrated) rock and roll band of all time.  There are numerous ELO tribute pages throughout the internet including lyrics and discographies so I don't need to duplicate any of that.  This page is my own perspective and contains thoughts about the band that are unique to me.  Below are the major studio albums put out by ELO.  Click on them and you'll see my own thoughts about the album in general as well as a list of songs.  Click on the song and you will see my thoughts about the song and whether or not it contains three attributes that predominate ELO's music.

Blue:    As I understand it, Jeff Lynnes' favorite color is blue.  It also is the color of his favorite soccer team, the Birmingham Blues.  As a result, the color blue is mentioned in many of ELO's songs.  In fact, the only references to a color other than blue are in the songs "Twilight" (scarlet), and "Train of Gold" (gold, purple, and green).

Evil Woman:    I think Jeff has a serious problem with the women he has known.  There are very few outright love songs in their mix.  Almost 50% of Lynne's songs make at least one reference to a woman leaving him or treating him badly.  Many songs are solely about a woman spurning him.

Weather:    If it isn't about women leaving him, then there is a good chance the song is about the weather. ELO's music is riddled with references to sunny days and rain.  Jeff constantly used the weather to describe his emotions.
